    Also known as tuberous pea, tuberous vetchling, and aardaker. This climbing perennial pea is grown not for it's seeds, but it's edible roots. The sweet and starchy roots can be eaten cooked or raw, and have a similar flavor to sweet potatoes when cooked. The taste is excellent and highly valued, however, yields are generally modest.
