Also known as perennial lupine or sundial lupine.

Directly sow perennial lupine seeds about 1/2 inch deep in early spring. Lupines don’t like their roots disturbed, so transplanting can be tricky. The seedlings are small and fragile, and should not be allowed to freeze. Germination can be improved by scarifying (lightly sanding) the seed coat to better allow water in, or by soaking them in warm water for 24 hrs.
